Police release surveillance video from a flea market burglary earlier this month in London.

They hope you can help them put the suspect behind bars.

Lt. Stewart Walker with the London Police Department says he hopes someone from the community recognizes the man on the surveillance video will lead to a break in the case.

Surveillance video shows a man inside the Flea Land Flea Market off Highway 229 in London on the night of July 1st.

Police describe the suspect as a white man with short hair, between five foot ten and six feet tall and weighing 175 to 200 pounds with a mustache and partial goatee.

London police say this is the prime suspect in their on-going burglary and theft investigation.

“After reviewing the tape there had been some merchandise approximately a thousand dollars worth of jewelry and things that had been taken from a vendors booth inside the Flea Land Flea Market,” Lt. Walker said.

So far police say the investigation has not produced any leads and now they are reaching out to the community for help.

“We are asking anyone in the community if they see this video that maybe they can recognize the person the male person in the video and notify the London Police Department.

Walker says there is also a vehicle of interest in this case he says a witness told him there was a green suspicious CRV in the parking lot of the flea market around the same time the crime occurred.

“171 is the first three digits of that tag of this dark green Honda CRV,” Lt. Walker said.

Police say it’s still unclear whether or not the dark green SUV is connected to the crime.

Police hope the surveillance video will help lead them to the suspect, who faces burglary and theft charges and several years in jail if convicted.

Police are also asking local pawn shop owners and other independent sellers around the area to call them if anyone suspicious tries to sell them a large amount of jewelry.
