Rabid Skunks Found In Central Kentucky

Health officials in Woodford County are warning pet owners to be on alert after three skunks tested positive for rabies.

The infected animals were found in the Hippe-Agee and Clifton Road area. Lab tests confirmed the presence of rabies.

Health officials say no humans were exposed, but are warning people who live in the northwest part of the county to be on the lookout for skunks acting strangely or roaming around during daylight hours.

Health officials are also warning pet owners to make sure their pet's vaccinations are up to date.
